Projected rest-of-year by category

Each category's rest-of-year is projected from your current pace. Occasional big bills use their yearly average. Pin a year target on any row to plan against it: the projection becomes what's left of that commitment.

This sets your target for the whole year (not just what's left), used only by this forecast. To lower your day-to-day Left to spend number, set a lower monthly budget instead.

How is this estimated?

We take your last 52 weeks of spending and replay them 10,000 times in a random order, to see the full range of ways the 15 weeks left in 2026 could add up. Most likely is the middle of those outcomes. Low and High are the bounds that 8 out of every 10 of them fall between. Occasional big bills (gifts and donations, insurance, taxes, travel) aren't replayed this way. Instead, we add a flat $3,072 for them (their yearly total, prorated to the weeks left), since they don't follow your week-to-week rhythm. Categories you've pinned (gifts and donations, travel) add $7,162, what's left of the year target you set after what you've already spent. You know that number, so we use it instead of guessing.

We resample whole weeks rather than months (too few to be reliable) or days (too jumpy, and a single big-spend day throws them off). A week is the sweet spot: it captures the rhythm of your regular bills without overreacting to any one day.
